      Bye, hoo time flees! Anudder 'ear ovver, an' Ah's sure ther gitten shorter these days, mebbe wid aw t' cut backs we nobbut git ten months noo.
      Sen mi last rig-ma-rowl we've hed sum grand meetin's; oor AGM was et Hackthrup but rayther less fowlk theer. Ted telt us hoo he was yance tekken fer a la'al cockney lad! Weel he was fair upset wid that sea med sarten he spak broad Westmerlan' sea nowt sek like wad ivver happen agen.
     Efter aw t' business hed bin swotted oot we hed a grand members day. Louise Green hes tekken tull t' editor's job like a duck te waiter, and she's a grand lass.
     Oor Young Farmers did thersels prood agen wid sum grand entries aboot oor coonty. T' field days war et Kirklinton nar Carel wen t'judges war Ted Relph, Brian Pedder and Louise, and Milburn anenst Appleby wid Ken and Evelyn Harrison and mesel es judges.
     Oor dialect sarvice et Le vens was champion, t' theme was Agriculture, and ivverything fitted tagither just reet. Brian Pedder teuk t' lead and lessons war read bi Len Hayton an' Bryan Dawson whea baith live et Levens. Ther' was sangs by Annie Mawson and Robbie Ellis, wid a poem fra Tommy Coulthard and a special prayer bi Len Hayton an' Jean Couper. T' kurk was aw set up wid recording gear sea we gat a CD ev it aw.
      Luv was in t' air anaw! Yan ev oor Vice Presidents, Len Hayton gat weddit te yan ev oor members Jean Couper et Levens kurk; we aw wish them baith ivvery happiness.
     Moresby i' West Cummerlan' was wheer we gat tull fer t' September meet, an hed a varra interesting tawk aboot iron ore mining fra Gerald Findlayson. We manished te git oor back end meetin' in afoor aw snaw set in; we hed oor last git tagither o' t' 'ear et Windermere, and yan ev oor members, Cliff Atkinson telt us sum tall teales, and aw aboot a cobbed thing cawd a Tizzy Wizzy et yance leeved i't' lake.
We mainly weathered t' lang winter awreet, an' set off on a bonny spring day te Mungrisedale where Ted and Len telt us aw aboot oor Viking Heritage, a grand meetin' wid a lot o fwolk theer.^iA
     We've lost a few members ower t' year; and sum hev resigned becos the' can't git te meetin's any mair. Keith Balmer com off t' committee cos he doesn't keep ower weel these days; he was allus a grand fella on t' committee an' we'll aw miss his input et meetin's.
     We've a varra willing group o' fwolk whea see te t' teas, weshin up, stall and raffle, but they sometimes struggle te mannish, sea they're allus glad te hev mair help. If ye can give them a bit ev a hand we'd be fair set up.
     We need ta git mair young fwolk te join and git involved; nin on us is gitten any younger. If ye ken enny young fwolk et use dialect or are interested in it, fetch them tull a meetin.
